Testing
Testing service scope covers the coordination of non-destructive examination, destructive (mechanical and corrosion) testing, report review and document assembly.
Hydrostatic tests can be provided to pressures of 25MPa for the testing of pressure equipment structural integrity and joint reliability. NATA calibrated digital test gauges are utilsed providing a data record of the testing process. Post hydro flushing and drying services can be accommodated if required
Clients have also drawn on our engineering and welding knowledge to support material failure occurrences in equipment. These services can form part of developing equipment repair or replacement programs by assisting in identifying root causes and suitable replacement materials for a given piece of equipment and its processing conditions.

Packinox Bundle Replacement Project
The refurbishment of Caltex’s Packinox heat exchanger required a bundle replacement to solve efficiency problems.
To do this the 80mm thick head needed to be cut off then re-welded into position.
With asset down time being costly an accelerated welding method was required to be able to complete the refurbishment within a planned refinery shutdown window.
